Film rights - Communiqué

Bernard Fixot, CEO of EDITIONS XO, and Thierry Desmichelle, CEO of SND, have reached an agreement for the sale of film rights for the OKSA POLLOCK series by Anne Plichota and Cendrine Wolf.

SND, a company which is part of the M6 group, is a shareholder of SUMMIT Entertainment, producers of TWILIGHT.

This branch of the M6 Group has distributed 16 films in movie theaters nationwide in 2009 which have sold over 12.4 million tickets at the box office. This historical success is due not only to the promotion of TWILIGHT with its phenomenal repercussions - a series of films based on nvels by Stephenie Meyer, which have sold over 40 million copies worldwide - but also on the release of various films such as KNOWING, THE READER, UNDERWORLD 3, etc.

Oksa Pollock

Volume 2 – The Forest of the Lost

Gus has vanished!

Oksa’s best friend disappeared this morning, somewhere inside St Proximus, their charming school in London. All that’s left of him is his mobile phone, which Oksa retrieves from the floor of one of the classrooms. Scrolling through the phone’s pictures, she finds a blurry photo of a woman who seems strangely familiar. Who is she? And what has happened to Gus? Oksa doesn’t know yet, but in her search for the truth, she will uncover dangerous family secrets which had so far remained hidden. She won’t hesitate, in her quest to save her friend, to dive into a parallel universe, a world where magic goes hand in hand with fear, and where the Run-For-Your-Lives will experience deadly ordeals.

With help from the irresistible Foldingots, not to mention the guarded Guessrel, will the young Graciousness find the sole exit from the Lost Forest in time?

Interview with the Authors

How do you spend your day?

Anne Plichota: First the struggle to get up, a whistling kettle, a steaming cup of very sweet tea, then my day can start for real: work, break for lunch, work, come home, work at home, read, bed.

Cendrine Wolf: pretty much like everyone else. A nice cup of fragrant tea then off to work.

Your main character trait?

Anne: Troubled but good-humored. Calm but quick. Hardworking, but not against having a little nap or sleeping in.

Cendrine: Melancholy and enthusiastic, which don’t tend to go hand in hand, but that’s me. I can be very outgoing with the right people, but I’ve always liked my own company. I have the ideal temperament for a writer, because I don’t need to be surrounded by people all the time.

What subjects have you studied?

Anne: Chinese language and culture...

Cendrine: Teaching sports. Nothing to do with writing!

Your favorite occupation?

Anne: Lying on a sofa or under a tree with a book and a packet of sweets within easy reach.

Cendrine: Drawing, reading and writing or writing and reading!
